Hello again...... and A Farmers Wife.

I'm Back.
Its been ages... I had decided to start a new blog
BUT after much thought and lots of time
 (a couple of years)
 I may procrastinate...LOL.
Unless its to do with fabric!!!
I love blogging and love reading them
(I have been a lurker...looking but not commenting).
This last few weeks I decided NO this is what I love. I'm doing this for me.

My intentions, or plans are to write down my goals and try to set aside a little time to do what I love doing besides sewing.

I will redo my blog dress, I like things pretty so am going to start redressing it. This may take some time but it will happen...
But in the meantime I will continue to be posting my sewing adventures.

A few years ago I decided to purchase the Farmers Wife book I and attempted a start with o a few blocks, which I hated. They looked bad to me. So I chucked them in the corner and
with one thing and another I never happened to start them again until I saw THIS
I got really excited as I like following along and also like the accountability with projects.
It keeps me on track...gives me direction and stops me giving up.

So I jumped in and have decided to use my never ending stash of Fig Tree Fabrics and embark on a Farmers Wife journey again with lots enthusiasm.
I am a little behind as I had a few really crazy weeks.
I also have added a few favorite fabrics that I have kept for special things.
These special things seem to never happen and I need to bite the bullet and use them.
Do you have special fabrics that you love to look at and never use??
Below is my Bunny Hill houses fabric that I adore.

And this one below has some Brambly hedge fabric that I have
had about 25 years...Time to use it don't you think?
I've joined the Facebook group for Farmers Wife and even though
most are paper piecing it, I know for me I would
prefer to Foundation piece or Rotary cut and piece.
Whats your favorite method of Sewing?

Tomorrow I will show you another stitching project I joined in with,
A little late but I am in love with the end result.

Thanks for hanging with me.
Blessings

A visit to Hat Creek Quilts!

A few months back I surprised Fee with a visit for her birthday.
I flew to Tasmania on the Thursday and stayed till the Monday.
It was a fabulous time of relaxing and sewing.
Lots of sitting & chatting with copious amounts of coffee.

On the Saturday (Fee's actual birthday day) we went for a stitching day at Hat Creek Quilts.
Oh just being in Deidre's home/shop was inspiration enough,
let alone having one on one instruction along with all the gorgeous fabrics and quilts.
We stayed for quite a few hours joining in with one of Deidre's stitching days with lots of ladies chattering and laughing. We had a yummy lunch and Birthday cake of course for Fee.

The Hat Creek cottage is filled with the most adorable quilts and knick knacks.
Lots to look at and gain inspiration from.
Some L.G.S ladies will remember from our bus trip in March.
It felt like travelling back in time along with the fantastic views of the country.
I'd say if your ever visiting Tasmania,
you must go for a visit or a stitching day. You will not regret it.

I am loving the table runner I chose to make.
I had never done wool applique before and I must say I am hooked.
I have not used the original colors but it looks so so Spring cheery.
I bought the pattern while I was there and had chosen some wool
when I was visiting in March.
It was perfect for the pattern I thought.
Now to finish the last little bit of blanket stitch and I can put it together.

Off for a cuppa and possibly a little stitching.
Enjoy your weekend!!

Some hexagon stitching....

Stitching hexagons can seem like a never ending project...

These little piles are going to be sewn into a lap/single bed quilt very soon...
It's a project that a friend and I put our hand up to do almost 18 mths ago.
Our State Quilters Guild asked for some volunteers to finish sewing
it for another quilter who was unable too.
Yes, I then roped my friends whom I sew with on a
Tuesday to lend a hand too.

They have willingly helped and we are almost complete.
We have sewn lots of hexi flowers together and now are up to sewing the rows.
Next will be the finishing edges...it didn't come with a pattern, so we are just winging it as we go.

It's enjoyable seeing this progress and  I am almost
tempted to make one for myself but only after I've finished some UFO's....

Check back next Wednesday to see how far we have progressed.

Time to return to things of yesteryear....

It's been so long since I blogged and I miss Blogging.
Lots of other social media takes my time, and to be honest some of it is wasting my time, so,
I'm getting back to enjoying those things of yesteryear...
Sounds like it was many many moons ago, yet only a few years really.

I still read some of those blogs from those who post the links on their Facebook pages,
I just haven't sat at my computer and read blogs like I used too.
Browsed and visited into beautiful blogs homes.

Time to return to what I love doing and look at what I enjoyed reading about.
The new quilt you've finished or the new idea you have...
So today I gave this blog a new dress. Do you like it?

And I am going to start sharing again the things I am doing, cooking,
liking, reading, enjoying.
I do hope you'll come visit again.

I've missed you!

Sweet Cinnamony Hugs
